Victory not important?

Our Community Organizer in Chief says our military should not have victory as the goal in the Middle East conflicts, specifically Afghanistan.
Well, what should be the goal? What are we losing brothers in arms for if not a victory?
Who is this man?
Certainly not a military type. Having been in the military since 1975, if one of my team told me that we should just not try to "win", to achieve a victory over the enemy, whoever they are.....I would tell him to pack it in, get out of the service and move to Portland.
Sigh.........I am depressed, in the words of Slim Pickins in the great movie "Blazing Saddles".

gone a long time

Well, it's good to be back. There is so much lunacy going on in the US. Where do I start? I'm too tired right now, so I will be back later. Tomorrow.

Crowley, Gates, Obama.....what a joke
Why not watch Blazing Saddles, laugh and get over it.

Health Care? If you think it's expensive now, just wait. If the BO Admin get's it's way things will really get out of control.

I was under the impression that there was "Change" coming. There does n0t seem to be any change. Whatever B O' s definition of "Change" is. He never really made a definition during the runup to the election.

Just which page is being ripped from the FDR playbook?

Same old folks, DC Insiders, no one willing to be offensive to anyone.

No confidence.

Well, it is becoming more obvious that B.O. not presidential material. If he was, he wouldn't be putting off his new job. Despite his continued "There is only one president at a time" mantra, he was elected on a "change" platform. He hasn't even started to change anything. His inner circle is composed of Clintonistas and old boy types. There are things happening on the world stage that he is not addressing.....not even talking about. I think he's going to rest on his post election laurels and wait. I imagine he is thinking that G W Bush is going to make the decisions for the last month or so. GW can do nothing at this point. He is off buying a new house for his retirement years. GW has his legacy, whatever it is, and he is done. But is BO stepping up? NO. True, it is not his job, yet. True. But is BO just going to ride out the next month? "There is only one president at a time" is just an excuse for "UH...UH...i don't want the responsibility, UH....UH... till i absolutely have to take it, and UH...UH...thats not till UH..January 37th".
I do not expect great things from this President. After I heard him tell the Governors of the 50 States that he expected them to come up with the economic plan, I knew this job would be beyond him. He is not a leader. He is not a visionary. He is looking for others to do his job, come up with new ideas (but there won't be any new ideas, just more of the same old crap) then he will say, "UH....UH....that sounds good! Lets, UH....do that!.

Just imagine......

Once upon a time, there was an Empire. The Roman Empire. It was the light of the world. The Pax Romana: The Roman Peace. The known world was ruled by Rome. Government, Trade, Travel......there was a time when folks didn't worry about much because they knew that there was a force in the world that kept things stable.
It didn't last forever, but when it was gone there happened a thing called the "Dark Ages'. Lots of people don't realize that it is called the Dark Ages because after the rule of Rome was gone it was anarchy. There was no LAW. There was no ORDER. It was a Dark Time.
Whether you like it or not, The United States is trying to keep Law and Order in the World. The US is trying to spread Freedom throughout the world. Not by force really, but through example. True, we have been a bit heavy handed at times. But is there a time or a circumstance when the end justifies the means? I'm not sure. What I do know is that there are many areas in the world that are not free. The people can't speak out. In some places, folks are killed because they don't believe the same way as the rulers. Those who speak out are killed.
Here in the United States, it is becoming harder to speak out. There are those who would say that if you do not agree with them, you are a "hateful" person.
Should a small, vocal minority be able to dictate to the majority of the people? Truth be told, there are a majority of silent folks who have been made silent by threats. Threats? Threats of what? Lawsuits? Jail? Yes. Can you imagine......wthat the way you think makes you guilty of a crime?
Back on track. There was a time when the US was a beacon of freedom. Is that time over? Hmmmmmm. No, I DON'T THINK SO. The REAL America is not gone. There are those in the REAL America who still believe in Freedom. Liberty, and Self Reliance. Really. BUT....don't forget that we have a responsibility to keep our Constitution intact.
Rambled a bit there, sorry.

Say it aint so!

The Constitution of the United States: is it well?

I am going to print the results from a survey/poll that I saw on THIRD EYE CONCEPT . You can access the site here, but I will include the bulk of the results as they were displayed so that you can see them here.
What I and you will read here got me to thinking. If folks don't really know (or care) about the
Law of the Land, The Founding Documents of the United States, The Bill of Rights,
well perhaps they need to be put before them so they can see exactly where they seem to be going. Which seems like away. For the next while, I am going to cite situations which explain, expose, or downright violate our God Given Rights as codified by the framers of our almost sacred Founding Documents: the US Constitution and the Bill of Rights.
So here we go. Obviously I'm not going to do all of this tonight, it will be a work in progress, and if you find something I should include, please forward it to me. Rights are being trampled so lets take a look at which ones and by whom.... shall we?

The Survey

A survey by the First Amendment Center in the US has reached the shocking conclusion that most American citizens don’t know the five basic freedoms enshrined in the constitution.

The study found that no more than 3% of Americans remember “petition” among the First Amendment’s five basic freedoms.

However, freedom of speech was remembered by the majority of respondents - 56%.

The others freedoms enshrined in the constitution appeared to have made little impression: freedom of religion was named by 15%; the same percentage remembered press freedom as a constitutional right while just 14% knew they had a right to assembly.

The number of respondents who remembered freedom of speech was the lowest in the history of the survey, conducted each year for the past eleven years.

What makes this year’s results more shocking is that 4 out of 10 people questioned could not name any freedom at all.

Whatever freedoms the constitution of the country may guarantee, it does not matter much since these rights are neither remembered nor needed as such.

The findings indicate that modern Americans do not think along the same lines as the Founders of the U.S.

Nowadays, it would seem, many Americans do not consider their basic rights and freedoms inalienable and are ready to delegate them to state or federal officials.

More than two centuries ago it did not take long for the Founders of the United States of America to realize the necessity of preserving individual freedoms in a system of individual states with a strong federal governmental centre.

In 1791, just four years after the declaration in 1787 of the American Constitution, the states adopted the First Amendment together with the Bill of Rights to guarantee that the strong federal government would not trample on basic individual rights and freedoms.

Moreover, there are rights totally forgotten by the American society, meaning most Americans are not familiar with the freedoms guaranteed by the American Constitution.

Freedom of speech and religion are among the first but liberties introduced to the American Constitution by the Bill of Rights. Traditionally, most of the questioned Americans recalled them. But regarding freedom of the press, freedom to assemble and to petition - these seem to be lost in oblivion.

The annual State of the First Amendment survey, held by the First Amendment Center (www.firstamendmentcenter.org), questions adult Americans on their attitude towards the rights spelled out in the First Amendment. This year it found the following:

• 39% would extend to subscription cable and satellite television the government’s current authority to regulate content on over-the-air broadcast television.

• 54% would continue IRS regulations that bar religious leaders from openly endorsing political candidates from the pulpit without endangering the tax-exempt status of their organizations.

• 66% say the government should be able to require television broadcasters to offer an equal allotment of time to conservative and liberal broadcasters; 62% would apply that same requirement to newspapers, which never have had content regulated by the government.

• 38% would permit government to require broadcasters to report a specified amount of “positive news” in return for licenses to operate.

• 31% would not permit musicians to sing songs with lyrics that others might find offensive.

• 68% favor government restrictions on campaign contributions by private companies, and 55% favor such limits on amounts individuals can contribute to someone else’s campaign.

Thus, a large number of Americans concede that in specific cases the federal government can be involved or even control individual freedoms.

The most shocking conclusion of the survey was that most of Americans could not name the five basic freedoms enshrined in the constitution.

End of Survey

So, I would like to mention that the five basic freedoms are found in the FIRST AMENDMENT.

  • Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof;
  • or abridging the freedom of speech,
  • or of the press;
  • or the right of the people peaceably to assemble,
  • and to petition the government for a redress of grievances
They are all in the First Amendment............Think about the news stories you have read in the last year, or seen on the television. Have you seen evidence of a "police state" in which these basics are not respected? Keep an eye out..........More next time

Barack Obama forced to deny abandoning 'change' amid insider appointments

Barack Obama is just another politician. It is obvious now. This is a guy who spent 600 million plus dollars to get a job that pays 400k a year. He told anyone who would listen to him exactly what they wanted to hear. He played those who voted for him. Now, not everyone was willing to listen. Many people saw right through him. I think I am one of those people. I never believed a thing he said. I watched him, I listened to him. I was not impressed. I think I mentioned my lack of confidence in B.O. in prior posts. I didn't trust him then, I don't trust him now. As a matter of fact I trust him even less now.
He is the next President of the United States. We have Russian naval vessels off the coast of South America, we have Islamic murderers killing Western tourists in India. In three days B.O. has had three press conferences and he has not said a word about these things. Well.....what the hell is he waiting for? I'll tell you. Barack Obama is not Presidential material. He is beyond his capability. If you look at his record you will see that he is incapable of making a decision. He can't think on his feet. I'm not even sure he can think for himself. I base this on my observations of the President Elect. And he's not punctual. Obviously he has little regard for his peers. Oh, wait, of course, now, he has no peers, thanks to an uneducated and/or ignorant electorate, at least the majority of them.

What about Immigration?

Should our borders be closed? Should aliens in the US be entitled to benefits that US citizens are not able to receive? Why is our government not stopping illegal aliens from pouring through the borders? Are there really jobs that American Citizens not willing to do? If so, who was doing those jobs twenty years ago. Personally, when I was a teenager, I was picking rocks out of fields being prepared for agriculture.

Voters

Well, I just got back from a Central American country known for coffee and Contras. Talk about voter intimidation. Down there you can actually be beaten for voting the wrong way, unlike modern "intimidation" here in the States which amounts to a fairy tale for a biased media.
Oh, that reminds me, this is a must see. http://howobamagotelected.com/ When I first watched this I was horrified that these folks were actually voting. It didn't matter who they were voting for, it was their lack of knowledge and the inaccuracy of what they thought they knew. Now I really understand what Neil Boortz means when he refers to the "dumb masses". I knew what he meant, it's just that I had never seen such an example. It is also an example of biased media and the actual filter it uses to only present the information it wants you to see. Ah, here's another one about folks who don't know what's going on. http://beltwayblips.com/video/harlem_voters/
Is there some actual conspiracy at work here? I'm not sure about that, but it seems like it could be. Who is actually in charge of what is seen on the TV news, or in the pages of a newspaper or magazine. You may never see the whole truth unless you actually go out and find it. Even then you may be unable to get the real truth. Ever seen the movie "Wag the Dog"? It's about perception management. It's about the creation of truth, the selling of an idea. Much like Obama being sold to the public as an agent of change.
Have you been paying attention to his selections for the various posts in his administrations. Clintonistas, some of the folks who helped bring us this economic situation; will Bill Ayers be the new Secretary of Education? It's an interesting group. Hillary Clinton, Secretary of State. We will soon see what Obamas definition of change actually is. One group of voters will be surprised.

Oh Well

An unknown quantity has been elected. What do we really know about this man? Not much. What does he really stand for? I don't know. I don't think anyone really knows. I need to think about this....seriously.

Uninformed

My daughter just told me that John McCain is evil and that Barak Obama is better. She is obviously uninformed.
I told her so, yet she insisted on espousing the Obama line. I asked her for three reasons why Obama was a better pick. She told me that he was "in tune with the younger set and would change things".
She told me that B.O. was only eight years old when Bill Ayers committed his terrorist acts so B.O. couldn't have known what he stood for.
I asked her for three reasons why John McCain was evil. She told me that George Bush put his arm around J.M. and approved of him.
Crap. My wife just accosted me and told me that if I had not been so "angry" when I confronted our girl with her lack of information and discernment then I would have had more success. She said," Why didn't you give her facts and try to persuade her? Well, I will tell you, she was just as "angry" as I was.

I just finished speaking with the girl and she told me that when GWB put his arm around JM that she had her "defining moment". So it appears that the very association of GWB and JM is cause enough to support B.O.
I am not pleased because she has not actually looked into the situation. What she hears is what she believes, and she hasn't tried to look at the other side of the coin.

I tried to teach my kids that you have to look at both sides of the situation in order to know what is going on. I'm afraid that she has been taken in by the leftist, socialist, propaganda that passes as news these days.

BTW, we have four kids. Three girls, one boy. Two of them have seen military service, one still in. Me? I joined the Army in 1975, and am getting ready to retire any day.

My military service has nothing to do with my choice for Commander in Cheif. It is my education that dictates my choices. I learned about the Declaration, the Constitution, the Bill of Rights....the things that made the USA the best place to live and be a part of. The place where much of the World wanted to come to, and still does.
I have been all over the world. Much of it sucks.

P.S. She just told me that the US is getting what it deserves. My God.

The abortion issue

Here is a video that will give you a good idea of where the presidential candidates stand on the issue of "Roe v Wade". Many folks will refer to this issue as abortion. Some say this is the killing of a human being, or some say it is "a womans right to choose" and others describe it as "reproductive health issues". At any rate, see what your candidate has to say.

Such an idiot

I have not been able to get into this account because I got my passwords messed up. I can be so stupid. But I finally took the time and energy to fix it. So...it's fixed. woo.

Do you know that Obama would not be able to get a security clearance based on his past associations and the questions that remain unanswered about his actual birthplace? He would not be able to get a job on his own security detail. How do I know this? I have a security clearance. The process was one of the most daunting things I have ever experienced. Everything I have ever done, every place I have ever worked or lived, and some federal agent checked it all out. It took about a year as I recall. If they thought I had received money from a foreign source, or "palled around" with a former terrorist, used illegal drugs, or couldnt prove where I had been born, or at least if someone said what I had said was not correct....in other words, if there was a question about what I had said, there would be doubt as to my honesty or character. And people are talking about giving this guy the "keys to the kingdom". What's up with that?
Of course, I guess the media would have him under constant surveillance....oh, wait...never mind. They don't care now, they don't ask the questions that need to be asked. Guess it a free pass. Interesting what is happening to "Joe the Plumber" though; who simply asked a question of B.O.

"Sharia courts operating in Britain"

This article in the Telegraph should give folks an idea of how insidious the Islamic threat is. British law is being slowly subverted by the Islamic idea of "justice"
I read an article, http://www.alertnet.org/thenews/newsdesk/LE668892.htm, it describes an Imam who has called for the deaths of TV astrologers and went so far as to call for the death penalty for TV show owners.
A good friend of mine was deployed to Saudi Arabia a few years ago. He told me story yesterday about a scene he witnessed while he was there. A woman stumbled in the street and fell. As she hit the ground, her covering clothing (I think it's called a burka) slipped up and exposed an ankle and a bit of calf. A nearby cop proceeded to beat her while screaming at her. The interpreter with my friend explained that she had been immodest by allowing her flesh to be exposed, hence the punishment. I believe the story. When I was deployed to the Middle East, I witnessed a similar event. A guard grabbed a girl by the hair and dragged her away while kicking her in the back to help move her along. She had been defending herself from some boys who were accosting her. Yet, she was the one who was apprehended. Those of us who witnessed this (including a couple of females who were absolutely incensed) were actually physicaly restrained by our guards from interfering with this Islamic justice. Yep, religion of peace. Especially for women.

Here is a website:

Robert Spencer knows what he is talking about and speaks to the issue of Islam much better than I can.

A response

OK, Well at least one person has been looking for something like what I am saying. Actually, I was expecting someone from CAIR to take exception. I wasn't expecting agreement. However, I went to your websites. You have put more work into them than I have been willing to put into mine so far. Bravo. However, I can't find an email for you, Ben.
I'm looking for some dialogue. You know where I am.

Ban Islam

Islam is not American. It is not conducive to democracy. It is a violent, repressive religion. Islamists are the enemy of US citizens. CAIR is an Islamist front similar to the Communist Party in its desire to destroy the American way of life. Ban Islam in the United States

Why is the Christian Heritage of the US being abrogated by Muslim accommodation?
Why are US citizens required to kowtow to Islamic demands?

Islam is the enemy of the USA.

Ban Islam.

"I will do this!"

Barak Obama. He has decided what he will do with the US. What he will do? Where does he get off deciding what he will do with the US. He said "I will invest 150billion$ over the next decade in affordable, renewable sources of energy...". I wonder what makes him so smart that he knows what to invest in.
EXCUSE me, investment comes from the private sector. Folks like you and me, or business folks who have an idea of what works and what does not. When government, and by that at this point I mean Obama in the White House, says I will invest, what it means is they will take moneyfrom the taxpayers and sink it into government programs which will be badly managed. Government does nothing well. Stupid regul;ation, red tape, redundant offices and officials, poor management, all of it means twice the cost, and excessive .......well BS.

T Boon Pickens

Have you seen those commercials on TV where T B Pickens is talking about his plan for wind energy? Does it make any difference that T Boon owns the land, or through fancy city politics has the ability to condemn property he wants by eminent domain and stands to make billions with your tax money with his wind power scheme? Turns out he has control, either through employees or relatives, of the local government. It gives him control over eminent domain in the area of where he wants all of these wind turbines. He has invested millions in purchasing the right land. Well, good for him. But don't believe for a minute that he is in this for the good of the country.
Now he is saying that Iranians are switching to natural gas. Sure they are. They don't have any gasoline. Despite having oil reserves, they have no refining capability. They are having riots over gas lines. Of course they are using anything they can get their hands on to fuel their cars. Nowadays. It wasn't always like this though.
Ever since the "Islamic Revolution" it has been down hill for Iran. But is T Boon telling the whole truth? No. Just enough to make his money by convincing folks that he has altruistic motives to make a wonderful thing happen with wind. Nope. It's all about money. Money for him. Not you. Not the US.
